watching winn dixie. My dog died and my mom said she would help me get another. There was a story about a dog in the local paper and my mom said she would be get me one like it. She had to send me to France and that was the best dog ever!
@montaillacman In college we had a huge water fight. Teams belonged to dorms or self-selected groups. The winner was a team that built a trebuchet. Most people were using squirt guns. The trebuchet tossed massive water balloons. It was a graphic lesson in the importance of advanced weapons.
@EWCiolko Stanford had a squash court. Only men played. Then Racquetball became popular and women played. They tried pink and blue shower curtains, but time slots were the eventual solution.
NYT mentioned that some American Indians were cannibals! What a great plotline that would be for a #Hannibal episode -- Hannibal and Will hiding out post-fall on a reservation of cannibal Indians!

Rewatching Cat Ballou. Prejudice against Native Americans is a Reoccurring theme. I had hoped that we would outgrow this prejudice which does us no honor.
The Economist writes:
"Abortion battle causes mayhem in America’s military ranks"
Apparently the military has funded female soldiers travel to pro-choice states for elective abortion. Members of the senate do not object to killing per se, but only abortion. I am fascinated.
Comparing childhoods with my friends. Theirs were closer to the storybooks. Mine was closer to Hannibal's. But childhoods consumed by survival prepare one for the modern world better than protective childhoods. Obviously you need food, but the rest is arguable.
Watching documentary which claims that Christopher Marlowe wrote the plays attributed to Shakespeare. I concur. But I don't think creating a new identity is easy today: DNA etc. So we cannot so easily disappear.
