@jdhein22@PatrickDLyons 15% catch probability. Means he had a better break, route, and speed than 85% of mlb outfielders here. I wouldn’t call that bad.
@ryan_ronit@camharless@BobMurphyEcon The question said you think the split was 90% red 10% blue. And you just said you would kill yourself for no purpose other than bumping up the death total. You’re either a liar or stupid.
@ryan_ronit@camharless@BobMurphyEcon You’re acting like everyone is making this choice together. Like they’re communicating or something. You can only make this choice for you. You have no idea what everyone else is doing. If you believed it was 10%, would you press blue? You can be honest, you don’t have to avoid
@ryan_ronit@camharless@BobMurphyEcon This is true, and in a real life scenario I genuinely think it would be maybe 10% that go blue. If that were the case, would you choose to survive with the other 90% of humanity? Or would you make all your loved ones sad by killing yourself cause you wanted to be righteous?
@entr0pvy@adfhadjkhfkgfgf@FreeArchivist@CFC_Junior_@MrBeast This is the only understandable reason to pick blue. It’s guaranteed some people will pick blue and you want to save them. But I honestly think in a real world scenario, where it’s “nothing” or “death game,” majority will pick “nothing”. Which means picking blue is suicide
@Prowl8413 You missed the mark BIG TIME. Red button says “live.” Blue button says “die. Unless at least half of you choose death, then you all survive.” You only choose blue because you’re worried others will, but there are no victims if you don’t make yourself a victim. It’s overly simple.
@bart_deboer@Re_bodymopar@wRadion@MrBeast You really said it yourself. Blue is the only button killing people. Why would anyone choose blue? In a real life scenario I think people are rational enough to hit red. Literally the only reason to hit blue is out of fear that others might do the same.
@bart_deboer@Re_bodymopar@wRadion@MrBeast The thing is, everyone SHOULD press the red button logically. You only press the blue button because you’re worried about other people pressing it. There are no victims if no one chooses blue. You’re all jumping in to save yourselves when no one needed saving.
@wRadion@Re_bodymopar@bart_deboer@MrBeast Blue only means “everyone survives” because you’re recognizing that people are illogical enough to hit blue. If no one hits blue, there is no one to save. Everyone should hit red and everyone should survive. But fear controls people
@wRadion@Re_bodymopar@bart_deboer@MrBeast But everyone lives if everyone presses the red button too. It’s simple. It’s so straight forward and obvious. You only press the blue button because you’re worried about other people pressing it. You’re all jumping in to save yourselves when no one needed saving.
@wRadion@Re_bodymopar@bart_deboer@MrBeast I actually think it’s more like choosing red is straight forward and logical, choosing blue is a result of overthinking about what other people will do
@wRadion@Re_bodymopar@bart_deboer@MrBeast No, the way I framed it is: press the red button to survive. The only people that would die are the people who don’t press the red button. Which means they either want to die or don’t understand the question.
@wRadion@Re_bodymopar@bart_deboer@MrBeast I think Mr beast could implement this in a Mr beast games, but replace death with elimination. If he framed it how I said, I think everyone would vote red. If he framed it like the original question, or how you did, most people might vote blue. Would be interesting.
@wRadion@Re_bodymopar@bart_deboer@MrBeast Again, the wording.
Push the red button to live.
Push the blue button to die - unless at least half of you push it.
Which one do you choose?
@wRadion@Re_bodymopar@bart_deboer@MrBeast But you could want everyone to push the red button, and everyone to live, and nobody gamble their life. That’s not selfish. I actually think the framing of the question has huge implications.
