in 2007 Arby's had a "5 for $5" deal, you could pick five items between a drink, fries, cherry turnover, roast beef sandwich, milkshake, etc.

me and a buddy would go there and get this, each got a sandwich, drink, we split a fry. under $3 each for lunch.

@BlackLabelAdvsr I did all those things you did. Worked through college, (lucky enought to get a scholarship) paid for my car, ate a lot of rice and pasta. There’s no way I could pay for college now at the current cost even if I did those same things.

@BlackLabelAdvsr I did the same. That’s almost impossible in today’s world. My first car was like 2K. People are selling cars that don’t even run now 5K or more. My college apt was $550 split two ways, that same apartment is now $1500.

@chrisorzy Going into debt for either is crazy. My child’s pediatrician said while her kids earned a college scholarship they probably paid that much on travel teams over 10 years. Most kids aren’t getting NIL money.

@anymanfitness We only think this way for baseball and basketball. I’m in a dominant football city and the kids go play basketball or wrestling and then run track. Somehow they come back every fall and still dominate.
