@steveahlquist @UpriseRI @GovDanMcKee Yes because housing vouchers mean squat! I got a RI Housing EMERGENCY voucher 6yrs ago. They then took away numbers and so I'm just waiting. It's no longer an emergency...I'm unhoused now 🤦🏽‍♀️

@steveahlquist @GovDanMcKee Unfortunately there is more money in keeping ppl homeless than housed. RI shelter system and all the programs associated with it take in a lot of money. Imagine if instead of those we built stablized affordable housing? I worked 13yrs in the field it's all money.

Please stay aware of the local crisis in housing. I myself have been unhoused and couch surfing since March with no apparent end. There is NO WHERE TO GO! I've had a landlord say "you have no husband or boyfriend how can you afford to live here?" after seeing I'm a single mom.
