Completely unverified, possibly ridiculous… but every meme needs an origin story. 😂

🫎💔 This one really hurts.

A young bull moose, only about 1½ years old and roughly 600 pounds, had been wandering through Rensselaer County, New York — even making his way near I-90.

Wildlife officials eventually tranquilized him in Troy with the intention of moving him somewhere safer and more rural.

Sadly, after the capture, officials said his condition steadily deteriorated. Despite being monitored, the decision was eventually made to euthanize him.

Right now, we still don’t know exactly what caused his decline. A necropsy is expected to help answer that question, so I don’t want to point fingers before the facts are known.

But man… what a sad ending for such a beautiful animal that was simply wandering through our world.

Rest easy, big guy. 🫎🌲❤️

Sometimes a meme catches attention because it’s funny.
