Them being your favourite artist does not absolve them of any harm they might have caused to other communities. They can art beautifully and still be violent. These two things are not mutually exclusive. #CancelCulture
You can enjoy a favourite book, piece of music or whatever form of art without asking the people who the creator hurt to stay silent so you can enjoy said book, piece of music or whatever form of art. #CancelCulture
It is violent to ask marginalised communities to ignore the violence and 'hear out' violent people when we don't hold space for them when they are violated by said violent people. #CancelCulture
So called 'cancel culture' is usually a response from marginalised communities to call us to action on noise they have been making about their experiences which is silenced by giving platforms to those who have been violent to said communities. #cancelculture

@mssakshinarula I believe in chances depending on the severity of violation of boundaries. I think people can change when they want to. Change is often selfish, I find most people only change when they stand to lose something invaluable by remaining the same.
It is no accident that Black people are disproportionately likely to suffer from #covid19 b/c we are made to work in order to survive, we are rarely given proper care when we are ill, & when we perish, our kin bare the immediate, material, & intergenerational trauma of our loss.
