So the NFL has told Azeez Al-Shaair they’ll remove him from the game if he wears a Palestinian child’s name, who was killed by Israeli airstrike, on his eyeblack. Psychotic. This harms no one by letting him do this. I think it’s absurd they were fining him, but those were the “rules” and he agreed to pay the fine. Removal from the game is INSANE. This shouldn’t stand!
🚨🚨 Dallas Mavericks star Kyrie Irving says he'll pay the $11,492 fine issued to Texans Pro-Bowl LB Azeez Al-Shaair for wearing "Hind Rajab" on his eye black during last Sunday's game vs. Bills, which the NFL calls an unauthorized message.

The police in Burlington, North Carolina told this mother if she continues to pursue answers in her sons case. They will arrest her !
Alecia Eubanks took to social media asking for help . Her son, Aamari “Shawn” Eubanks, has been missing since December 2024. What was supposed to be a quick trip to pickup his grandmother’s mail has turned into almost two years of unanswered questions .
The vehicle Shawn had driven that day to pick up his grandmothers mail was found off Sharpe Road in a wooded area the next day. The vehicle’s windows had been busted out and there was blood in and around . Police say that there were signs of a violent altercation . But still Shawn has never been located and nobody has ever been held responsible . This mother just wants help in bringing home her child .
Lupita Nyong’o on the discourse around her casting as Helen of Troy in ‘The Odyssey’ ⚔️
“this is a mythological story”
“I’m very supportive of Chris’s intention with it and with the version of this story that he is telling. Our cast is representative of the world. I’m not spending my time thinking of a defense. The criticism will exist whether I engage with it or not”

One of the things I continue to find remarkable in this debate is how many people look at Black students scoring in the 95th percentile on the MCAT — often higher than the average matriculant at most American medical schools — and still conclude they were admitted “only because of race.”
These are objectively elite academic performers. Many scored higher than applicants admitted to excellent medical schools across the country.
And yet some people persist in speaking as though the mere existence of Black students at Yale is proof that standards collapsed and that unnamed “more deserving” Asian applicants were robbed.
At that point, the conversation is no longer about MCAT scores. It is about an inability to imagine that highly accomplished Black students belong in elite institutions.
What also fascinates me is how quickly social media pundits become absolute authorities on physician selection, while dismissing the judgment of admissions committees at institutions that have spent generations training world-class physicians and scientists.
Medicine is harder — and more human — than sorting percentiles on a spreadsheet.
so Trump just replaced Kristi Noem, who didn’t have a law degree, with Markwayne Mullin, who doesn’t even have a bachelor’s degree, as DHS secretary
and they have the nerve to call well-educated, overqualified Black women “DEI hires”?
oh the irony
The current student body at my Alma mater University of Georgia is 7% Black and it’s a state that has one of the largest Black populations in the country (30%)
The idea that White people were discriminated against in admissions is insane.
If you’re wondering why Ryan Coogler and Sinners have been quietly snubbed all year by Variety, Deadline, Rolling Stone, and The Hollywood Reporter, there is a reason.
These outlets, along with Billboard, VIBE, IndieWire, and award institutions like Golden Globes, American Music Awards, Billboard Music Awards, Streamy Awards, and New Year’s Rockin’ Eve, all sit under one corporate umbrella owned by Jay Penske.
When one billionaire controls the press, the charts, and the awards, journalism stops being journalism. It becomes narrative management.
That is why many of these institutions no longer carry cultural weight. Awards feel hollow. Charts feel manufactured. Coverage feels selective. Not because culture stopped evolving, but because legacy media stopped serving the truth and started serving power.
Journalism cannot function without free speech, impartiality, and accountability. Legacy media has abandoned all three.
This is why 2026 marks the real turning point. Not because legacy media is old, but because it has been consolidated, politicized, and weaponized.
The collapse of credibility always precedes the rise of something new.
And that is exactly where we are now.
What an exciting time.
