Sending love today to the woman who is tired of being strong. The one who has no fight left in her. The woman who is sick of slogans. The woman who just wants to be safe. Who just wants to be free. Here's to the woman for whom the mbokodo metaphor has long expired. You are seen💚

We remember writer, activist, & anthropologist Regina Gelana Twala (1908 – 1968).
Joel Cabrita's published book, Written Out: The Silencing of Regina Twala, exhumes the woman who had been written out of history, bringing her life story into the light.
She also played a crucial role in the fight for women’s rights & gender equality. She was one of the many activists at the forefront, fighting for the abolishment of apartheid laws. But she was maliciously written of history in order to silence her raging literary voice.
