enjoying life serving others, a fan of uncomfortable truths, talking to people on twitter with love and respect the way I would talk to them in real life.
@seerutkchawla Trump and right leaning people do this with the 2020 Election. Left leaning people do this with the SCOTUS decision on Roe the Rittenhouse verdict. Bee can’t have a society where the Court is only legit if it ruled in my favor. That’s a pretext for civil war.
@seerutkchawla Another feature of our culture right now seems to be the attitude that because my side didn’t win on an issue, the process wasn’t fair and the institutions that managed the process are corrupt. This is true for high profile trial verdicts, SCOTUS decisions, elections, etc.
@seerutkchawla This seems to be a feature of all political perspectives these days, not just SJW. Everyone seems to attribute nefarious intent to opponents while denying any virtuous rationale the opponent might have for taking a certain position. Everyone is someone’s cartoonish villain.

@LO_Diehards I’m not sure why I’ve categorized it with what I call old retired people daytime shows like Matlock, Heat of the Night, etc. Probably because I used to see my mother watching it. I’ll have to give it a try, starting with that episode. Thanks!
@mayorbridgetrl My mother carried a pistol, too. She worked downtown in city offices and used to get off work very late and walk through desolate parking areas to her car. She had to pull it once to scare some guys away. I wonder what would have happened had she not had it.
@ki_iluh@ImmuneHack It’s that proposition that debilitated Black people. They can’t be okay until some notion called systemic racism ends? No people can be successful that way. Anyone who has that attitude is a ward of the state.
@ki_iluh@ImmuneHack We don’t have racism embedded in US law. Systemic racism is a ghost. The problem is people believe in and get distracted by that ghost.
@ki_iluh@ImmuneHack I’m not implying that. You may be inferring that. What I will say is Black communities are distracted with the project of stamping out White prejudice instead of things we could do like creating more tutoring programs.
@jstevewhite@HistoryBoomer@James_West_PhD That’s fair. But, the right has to be meaningful from a practical perspective. If we’re comparing countries against a standard of universal natural rights, I’d say countries that disarm their citizens aren’t respecting a meaningful right to self defense.
