#AskingAutistics what ear defenders/noise cancelling devices do you use and recommend for those with hearing hyposensitivity, BUT still allow you to hear conversations?
Deploying the Georgia National Guard to bolster overworked healthcare workers while refusing to protect educators and students from the exact same harm. Urging education but rejecting the science to keep folks safe. I do not understand the strategy.

A lot of black #autistic kids are misdiagnosed due to environmental and community judgment they blame where they are raised & act/behavior/personality rather than getting them tested for #neurological disorders or symptoms. It’s not to late to speak 🗣 out. Do not be ashamed.

Is hitting or spanking #autistic toddlers or children appropriate?
No it is not appropriate, autistic toddlers and kids nervous system and brain can not differentiate between #assault and hitting disciplines most of the time. Finding other ways and techniques is the best way.
Hello everyone,
My name is Kayla. I am a black autistic disability rights advocate. I have been advocate since 2017. I talk about the lens of being autistic and black. The conversation about race and disability need to discuss more. Black autistic (disabled) lives matter!
What if “behavioural support” meant empowering autistic kids to do the behaviours that help them? What if it meant “listen to your body and know when to stim, when to cover your ears, when to leave the room”? What if it meant “behave as you need to and fuck NT norms”??
