In a financially abusive household where the woman has no source of income and the husband only provides for things like rent, school fees and medical expenses, how exactly is she supposed to make do? Please think about it for a minute.

It’s that little money she gets here and there that she uses to buy the kids new things for school, sort out their lunch, buy foodstuff and handle all the miscellaneous expenses that come up around the home. You people act like you don’t know these things happen, and I think that’s unfair.

Any woman taking money meant for household needs to buy wigs or other frivolous things while her husband is struggling or genuinely provides adequately is stealing, and that should be called out. But there are also women who do this because it is literally their only way of meeting the day-to-day needs of themselves and their children when their husbands don’t provide enough beyond the major bills.

And a lot of you criticizing and condemning this grew up in homes where this was exactly how your father treated your mother. This was how she managed to get by and take care of you and your siblings, but somehow you still don’t see the pain or the burden she carried. You don’t see this as reason enough, yet that was literally how you and your siblings were taken care of.

The circumstances matter and can make this justfiable.
