Sgt Romuald Żywicki of the 16 OTU was killed when his Mustang crashed at Goosnargh near the Bowland Fells in Lancashire.
He is buried in Layton Cemetery, along with 25 other Poles; Blackpool had been the HQ of the Polish Air Force from 1940.
Please be aware that our aircrews, and their support personnel, are continuing to conduct essential training, on a daily basis. if you are in the vicinity of Birmingham or Exeter, you may glimpse a 99 Sqn C-17, and a 47 Sqn C-130 aircraft in the Blackpool area
Driving from Bradford to Blackpool to see friends is not essential travel. Driver also claimed the journey was so his friend could sort the insurance out. Oh, and he had no driving licence either. Vehicle seized, driver reported. #T2TacOps#stayathome
