Blackwell's Mark

First-person witness to one of the greatest Leaf games ever. Studying patience ever since.

@NHL @Sportsnet Yeah, it'd be great to see it. But, like thousands of others, I'm blacked out of coverage — I live in Florida. #waytogoNHL

[Blackwell's Mark @BlackwellsMark]

@lukefoxjukebox For anyone wondering why this season "feels" different....

[Blackwell's Mark @BlackwellsMark]

@TicTacTOmar It certainly looks that way. Dude can't buy a call.

[Blackwell's Mark @BlackwellsMark]

@jonassiegel Serious question: in your estimation, can he be a reliable 4th liner in the playoffs?

[Blackwell's Mark @BlackwellsMark]

@grittyisking @FlyersNation You are not alone sir!!!

[Blackwell's Mark @BlackwellsMark]

@jtbourne So 4 of the NHL's top-10 highest paid players are playing for Toronto in 24-25.

[Blackwell's Mark @BlackwellsMark]

@jonassiegel He's not wrong. They haven't played to their ceiling but is their ceiling enough to be competitive April onward?

[Blackwell's Mark @BlackwellsMark]

@jtbourne And by "a piece" I'm just going to assume you mean Marner. 😉 Would love to hear you & @RealKyper dig in on the grit issue a bit more. Esp, how one gritty (and talented) player could/might spark the core 4. Greetings from Tallahassee.

[Blackwell's Mark @BlackwellsMark]

@jtbourne You often say "You can't tape grit onto a core." Fair to say the Leafs have proved your point. So, if Cups require grit, what can the Leafs do? Thanks in advance for your reply unless it's "Nothing," in which case, no reply is fine. Have a good show today!

[Blackwell's Mark @BlackwellsMark]

@walsha The most poorly marketed league on earth proves it once again. The website isn't much better.

[Blackwell's Mark @BlackwellsMark]

@JShannonhl We've seen versions of this before. Whip up the Toronto media to fuel interest and demand elsewhere. From a lowly fan's perspective, this one has Florida written all over it.

[Blackwell's Mark @BlackwellsMark]

@SamAMcKee Thoughts on Keefe's "We've addressed it." comment? Eager to see what happens when Dahlin face washes #34 tonight. You?

[Blackwell's Mark @BlackwellsMark]

@DownGoesBrown The key verbiage you use here being "appease the worst people." The world's most poorly run, poorly marketed league proves again why it's being surpassed by MLS.

[Blackwell's Mark @BlackwellsMark]

@TicTacTOmar Get used to it folks. He's going to be winking all the way to the bank.

[Blackwell's Mark @BlackwellsMark]

@mapleleafsaggr "Extension holdout"? Interesting way of describing what's typically called a "negotiation."

[Blackwell's Mark @BlackwellsMark]

@SamAMcKee He's also got TML$$$. I'd wager Pridham is one of (if not THE) highest paid AGMs in the NHL.

[Blackwell's Mark @BlackwellsMark]

@notmikeydavis @SamAMcKee It's almost as if the NHL's salary cap/LTIR structure is inherently flawed in that it necessitates these kinds of moves over, and over, and over, and over again.

[Blackwell's Mark @BlackwellsMark]

@SamAMcKee This might be Treliving's most impressive move as TML GM yet.

[Blackwell's Mark @BlackwellsMark]

@calder12 So, I'm guessing you're not a long time Flyers fan?

[Blackwell's Mark @BlackwellsMark]

@JayWhynott @SamAMcKee Doesn't look like we're going to know any time soon. Gotta think the longer it goes the more likely it's Pridham.
