The old trailer had one problem:
half of it no longer looked like the actual game.
So we rebuilt it.
The demo update isn’t live yet, but the trailer already shows the new direction:
fully handmade pixel art, no AI visuals left anywhere. Thank you for the feedback!
Updated demo soon. If you haven’t tried the demo yet, this might be the right time soon.

The new version of our demo is now live on Steam🎉
All previously used AI generated visuals have been replaced with fully handmade pixel art, alongside new music and sound effects.
Same mystery. New atmosphere.
And once again, thank you for all the feedback along the way 💙

The demo isn’t new.
But it now looks the way it always should have.
All AI-generated visuals are gone, replaced with fully handmade pixel art.
Releasing in ~2 weeks.⌛️
We’ve updated the cover art for Blackwood’s Dilemma.
The upcoming demo update will come with a broader visual refresh :
updated characters, improved visuals, and a slightly new overall look for the game.
This new cover is part of that change.

Every detective game has clues.🔎
A letter. ✉️
A footprint. 👣
A bloodstain.🩸
Our game also has… a fully plucked rooster🪶 that plays a very specific role in one suspect’s… plans.
No, it’s not dinner.

The first wave of suspect reveals has come to an end. 🕵️
Now we’re working to get the updated characters (and a few other improvements) into the demo. If all goes well, the update should arrive later in March or early April.
But don’t get too comfortable…
There are still plenty of suspects left in Blackwood, and we can’t wait to introduce them.
Until then, we’ll share a few different kinds of posts while we prepare the next reveals. 👀

Suspect profile: Chester Whitmore🧑⚖️
Occupation: Judge
Every official record, every decision, passes through his hands.📜
Control, in this town, has a name.

Suspect profile: Natalie Bloom
Occupation: Tailor. 🧶
She doesn’t speak much, but she listens.
And when she finally speaks… you should pay attention.

This drawing was made by our mum.
It started as a pencil sketch on paper.✏️
We scanned it, reduced the colours, cleaned it up… and now it lives inside Blackwood.📰
Indie dev means family sometimes becomes part of the world you build.
Thank you, Mum. ❤️
