Why do people believe that taxing billionaires more is suddenly going to fix all of our problems?
In 2025, the federal government spent $1.8 TRILLION more than they made in tax revenue. If we instituted a 100% wealth tax and confiscated all the stock holdings of Elon Musk, Larry Page, Jeff Bezos, Sergey Brin, Larry Ellison, and Mark Zuckerberg you would be able to balance the budget… for one year. What are you going to do the year after that?
Assuming a 5% wealth tax per year, taxing those 6 billionaires would raise $94 billion. That means the deficit would be $1.7 trillion instead of $1.8 trillion. Meanwhile all those guys lose control of their companies. What exactly does that solve?
We can’t tax our way out of this situation. Cracking down on waste, fraud, and abuse is essential.
@HouseOfJordans Not too many NBA referees make it to 30 years without following guidelines that big markets/ star players create higher ratings/revenue …Ahem Operation Flagrant Foul
Everyone’s suddenly talking about the WNBA so I felt obligated to share this video of Bill Burr delivering the greatest take on it in history.
“Ladies if you could just support the WNBA the way you support a fat chick that’s proud of her body & no longer a threat to you...” 😂💀
@USSportsCards1@natsturner @CSGCards @PSAcard Estimate 6million cards in the backlog. Maybe they are creating capital to be able to hire more graders and attack the backlog faster. This way they will be able to go back to a lower price point when the backlog is done.
@mmastats20 @arielhelwani What grace? 2-7 in his last 9 fights with 1 win vs Askren lol. 0-2 in title fights. Never won more than 3 in a row in Ufc. Fan favorite cause his streetbrawl got videod.
@RobbieBarstool His era of invincibility ends tonight. He had his run but just as Rousey's lost to Holm was the beginning to an end and showed certain weakness in her boxing defense so will be Mcgregors weakness
@MikeSilver@stevenjwilson11 @TeejGeo @CDelahunty@nfldraftscout Just spoke to an NFL GM about #Chargers smokescreen.
"Fucking brilliant. Never caved to Dolphins bs that they put out for months they wanted Herbert so they never traded ahead of Fins and still got Hebert”
