@echppll@JoshuaTorrey@_BenRatliff I think most pastors/session are likely not as versed on what it is and how it can be used, and how it should be used. If the idea that AI is a neutral tool is the case, then using it in sermon writing is a wisdom issue. Who is giving wisdom in that? So far, nobody.
@echppll@JoshuaTorrey@_BenRatliff And to take it up a level, people are actively using it in ways that is bringing about them taking their own lives. There have been several stories published about it.
@echppll@JoshuaTorrey@_BenRatliff Also, that may sound pointed. Not my intention. Your question just seems like one where you may not be engaged with AI directly in an immediate way.
@JoshuaTorrey Yeah. I would say the “just” is important in what he meant. Because people ignorant of the whole of it, saying, “it’s just super google” are speaking from a place of ignorance.
@bamfurlong Our session is working on rules and wisdom, etc. but won’t have anything “completed” for a few months. I know Core Christianity published some articles on AI in the past 3 months.
@cbradedwards@CAHutch1990@JoshuaTorrey I’m not 100% sure where our guys are on it. It’s compromised of 2 REs and 1 member of our church. All 3 of them are engaged with using Ai in their work place. Our “deadline” on it is the fall.
@rhford123 I appreciate this immensely.
It’s something I’m regularly thinking about as we are in a reformed desert and so people aren’t aware at all of what’s going on!
@rhford123 Thank you for the thorough reply!
How important do you think it is that people at some level understand what they are getting into? Going from like non-denom charis-baptist; or dispensational Baptist to the PCA.
