Lyle Fife is my great grandpa! My parents told me stories of how he designed and built the lights at Tiger Stadium on Michigan and Trumbull. I am very thrilled to randomly find this on my timeline and share as a piece of Detroit history! Thank you and God bless! ~Blake Fife
#Detroit, 541 E Larned St, 1980-2023. This 1920's era building was originally home to a paint and trim store, before Fife Electric (whose owner Lyle Fife also owned the Detroit Lions) occupied the site from roughly the mid 1930's to 1960. By 1976, the building had been converted into The Wallaby restaurant, later Evans 500 Club, as seen in the 1980 photo. In 1983, the Evans club hosted the short-lived Laff Factory. Later that year, the business would rename to Bea's Comedy Kitchen, eventually becoming a 22 year institution which hosted local and national comedians. It closed in 2005, and within months, an effort was made to open a New Orleans themed restaurant called Acadie Cajun & Creole Cuisine. A grant was received, a balcony was constructed, but funding dried up and the eatery never materialized. The distinctive building sat vacant, and with little notice or fanfare, was shamelessly razed in 2016 for a parking lot. An adjacent building with a century old Goodrich ghost ad was also removed.
@Black__Stallion We only use Black Stallion gear. It is the finest welding gear. I have a BSX Backpack thats 7 years old, thing is beat up but still zips open and closed easy, none of the pockets are ripped. We have jackets that are still good. We love BSX Gear!!
We are excited to be part of the manufacturing revolution in America in 2026. Reviving the great manufacturing that once was a staple in the way of middle class American families.
I am just a one man operation but I am seeking to build nice quality items right here.
we also recently started making steel Trailer Ramps and will continue to diversify our catalog with various steel products made right here in Detroit, Michigan.
if anyone needs #welding work done in #Detroit or surrounding eastern areas, give me a call at 313-512-9353. We will weld in cold weather in most situations above 10 degrees F.

A 🧵Some personal news: After 25 years with Fox/Bally/Fan Duel Sports Network my position has been eliminated. The Detroit Tigers are going in a different direction with their broadcasts and regretfully I will no longer be a part of those productions. I’m not sure what’s next. I
Mickey, I am 34 now, have seen you from time to time doing live broadcasts from the stadiums, and I always enjoyed your enthusiasm and dedication to the sports and teams. Your broadcasts always felt authentic and real as an avid detroit sports fan, and it is a privilege to have you here. I pray that something new and great opens for you very soon. It would sure be awesome to keep you around Detroit. Best wishes and to your future successes. -Blake
