In reality Florentino Perez found out about Barsas interest in Rodri, and he did exactly the same thing he did for Julian (make them pay more).

Now they end up giving him a salary thats fair for a player that joins on a free transfer which isn’t the case right here.

He is just making sure they never get out of the financial hole they keep digging themselves into.

Let’s be grateful for the two wingers that we just sealed for the future, our team still has flaws but we haven’t seen what Jose has in store for us.
Signing Rodri would have been great, but let’s not overreact, this club has seen success without him (and even against him).
We should look at this as a chance to get a player thats younger and not so much at risk of injury, we already dealt with Mendy, Hazard, Alaba…giving 30M per season to someone that can end up like them is a mistake the club should not make again.
With that said - good luck to Rodri at Barcelona, he is at least helping us keep Barsa in a bad financial situation.

When you put together an orchestra with great musicians, the only thing you’re missing is the conductor. Rodrigo would be a wonderful fit (for them and for us), and with him in the squad + our current players Mourinho would have great midfield combinations every single game.
After all the things that Rodri said about Madrid I still feel like we have the edge over Barsa. Lets see what happens, but one thing is for sure, one midfield is getting a huge upgrade , and if it isn’t ours, we will for sure struggle against them in the middle of the field.
