Jamaica now has the lowest per capita murder rate in the "
Caribbean.
I never thought this was possible .
Great work by the police.
Good job by the government
The Government, through the UDC, has announced a major development plan for Ocho Rios covering seven key projects, including upgrades to the Ocho Rios Bay Beach, Turtle River Park, Shaw Park, and major redevelopment work at Dunn’s River Falls & Park, as well as Belmont Cove and Laughing Waters.
The plan also includes a strong housing push, with 1,500 to 2,000 units proposed across Mansfield, Chalky Hill, and Malvern Park. Nationally, the UDC is expected to contribute up to 12,000 housing solutions, supporting the wider Government housing programme alongside the NHT and HAJ.
“Deliberately misinforming the world about our national assets can only harm those who derive a living from them, and our country which needs all the support it can get at this time. We urge those who derive satisfaction from so doing to desist immediately.” #Jamaica#Caribbean

A Cyber Attack? Why Speculate and throw around irresponsible conspiracies when JPS has already stated the cause of the outage? How is this responsible?
Last night’s all-island electricity blackout out is a rare occurrence nowadays, a fact which made it especially concerning. Seems that multiple lightning strikes may have disrupted its transmission and distribution. Jamaica has sufficient generating capacity, present and planned. Our country, barring exogenous shocks, will not return to the days of frequent blackouts.
🚨Update: As of 5am Saturday 6th June approximately 500 thousand customers of just under 700 thousand customers have been restored across all parishes overnight.
It is expected the remaining affected customers will be restored by early this morning.
I have called an emergency meeting with @myJPSonline for noon today at the jps command center which will be followed by a press briefing.
I have been closely monitoring the situation all night and will continue to do so until full restoration is completed.
I commit to keeping the nation advised and updated on this UNACCEPTABLE SITUATION.
@MarkJGolding This money would have reached the beneficiaries it was budgeted for,if the people’s representatives were doing a good job at representation.
Who remember this man,use to be Mr Jamaica, when pnp in power he would get every contract, he was head of everything pnp has ,how can pnp talk about Mr Anderson, why pnp brain 🧠 so shallow them easily forget things..
The existing Energy License negotiated and implemented by the former Minister (Mr. Phillip Paulwell) when he was in Government allowed a significant portion of electricity system losses to be passed directly on to hardworking Jamaicans by removing the threshold that previously limited this exposure.
This decision has increased ratepayers’ burden collectively to over J$30 billion per year, representing approximately 20% of total electricity costs. Yes, 20% of your electricity bill is for electricity you don’t even use, costing Jamaicans $30Bn per year.
Yesterday during my visit to Coronation Market, a sweet lady approached me with two pineapples complemented by some kind words.
I thanked her and gave her a hug. In that moment, she became emotional.
I remain grateful for the encouragement, the honest conversations, and the warmth shown by my Jamaican family across the country.
Thank you for the love, the prayers, and the support!
How about we get people properly identified with proper addresses. Stop depending on politicians to help find people. They will always look for the registered voter. Half the stuff we channel through politicians not necessary. If people have verifiable identities and proper addresses. They can be assessed and paid their benefit. 1000 people in a district with same address is madness. It will never be efficient if we don't fix our identity and addressing issue
Today, we celebrate the life and legacy of The Most Honourable Edward Seaga, Jamaica’s fifth Prime Minister, on what would have been his 96th birthday.
Edward Seaga devoted his life to the service of Jamaica and played a significant role in shaping our nation’s political, economic, and cultural development.
Beyond public service, he was deeply passionate about Jamaican culture, music, and heritage, helping to preserve and promote the richness of Brand Jamaica to the world.
As we honour his memory today, we acknowledge his tremendous contribution to our country and continue to draw inspiration from his dedication to nation-building.
May his legacy continue to live on in the heart of our nation.
I believe there must be a national conversation about pensions and social security in Jamaica, especially as it relates to how we care for our elderly.
In many of our communities, care for the elderly is being carried by families, neighbours, and kind individuals in very informal ways. This is part of a strong care culture we have built over time. But it is not always enough.
We also have to be honest that many elderly Jamaicans do not have pensions, and rely on children or relatives who themselves are often under financial pressure. This is why we must rethink retirement planning and strengthen formal savings and pension systems, so that dignity in old age is not uncertain.
Major Gen. Antony Anderson served as JDF boss for the entire duration of the last PNP Gov't.
Let's not be fooled into thinking they do not know his qualifications & strong skillset.
They are just habitually willing to attack honourable Jamaicans serving our country. Terrible.
