@davemeltzerWON Damn, you can't win when you say anything about AEW. If it's positive, you're getting "paid by Tony Khan". If you're somewhat down on some aspect of the product, you get attacked by AEW fans as being too negative.

@RupertPupkin820 @davemeltzerWON Dave is really critical of AEW if you watch the shows on Youtube. When he's critical, however, he gives caveats and qualifiers that may sound like excuses. People then listen only to the excuses and not the criticisms, and think he's on the AEW payroll. Not fair though

@davemeltzerWON Look, if Tony thinks this helps ratings/interest in the product, fine. To me, this makes it look like what Punk said is a big deal, which it wasn't. And how is this a big deal in storyline? The AEW fans in the arenas don't care what Punk said.

@davemeltzerWON In fairness, I think Cornette assumed that if AEW was losing money, Tony Khan would end it. He wasn't really wrong about AEW, but about Tony Khan.

@davemeltzerWON I get that they would prefer arenas to be sold out, but isn't live business about 1/10th as important as tv ratings? Doesn't all the money come from television?
