Why is it that some people don't like giving themselves accolade?

There's this man who always complains about the small house he lives in and how everything wasn't working.

He would usually say "i wish I had the money to live in a bigger apartment in wuse or maitama".

One day he went out to work and on his way back it started raining. Unfortunately for him he had nowhere to hide himself from the rain and he couldn't find any cab that'll take him home.

As he kept getting drenched under the rain all he could think and wish for was him lying peacefully on his mat at home.

Just then came a subtle voice "I thought you're tired of that house and you want to leave the house?" And that was when he realized something deep.

That was not just a house it was shelter, where he could run to infact the only place he could run to, the place that brings him peace and that moment opened his eyes to gratitude.

From that day onward he never complained about the house again.

This were the regular words of a neighbor during his younger years. He'll never stop to think about the future or even the next day.

Sometimes he'll even quote scriptures for you stating that God will provide so we shouldn't worry about tomorrow.

He continued saying this until he started getting to his late forties. Bills were coming from left, right, and center. Kids in school needed money, fees needed to be paid, rent too is there, let's not even go to food and other basic amenities.

He's now feeling very much weighed down by the constant pressure, anxiety, depression and frustration. The bills were literally crushing life out of him.

He doesn't even notice when there's a pay rise anymore because literally everything still goes to clearing bills.

One day he sat his friend and an elderly man down and was explaining his ordeal to them but to his greatest surprise the old man called him and his friend fools.

They were both shocked at the statement. But when they asked why he said that he explained to them how the problem wasn't about the bills but their lack of preparation.

He explained to them that as a young man before getting married or in your early years of marriage there are lesser bills to pay and it's from that moment they should have been saving and investing before times like this comes.

He showed them some of his assets including a mini estate with 12 one bed room flats. He said that alone will sort his bills monthly and even though he's retired he still lives better than them, he still saves and take investment opportunities.

One was forced to ask but why are you investing again? Are you not too old for that?

He laughed and replied do you think generational wealth starts from one generation?
No. It actually starts from one person and that's exactly what I'm doing.

I and a lot of premium and premium+ users on this platform has been battling with one form of ban or the other.

It's so annoying after we spent both time and money to use this platform you still keep us excluded and without what you promised(high reply boost).

For over a month now I barely got 70k impressions what usually take me hours to get. I've rested my account for days even weeks but nothing changed.

Even after seeking the help of the support team I still didn't get a solution.

Please if this is how it'll continue kindly say it so I'll leave you platform for you

I’ve noticed that a lot of people here aren’t really trying to build anything for themselves. Most of the focus is just camping under big creators’ comment sections to grow numbers.

You’re not known for anything.
You don’t really tweet your own opinions on trending topics.
You don’t start conversations.

It’s mostly just hanging around big accounts all day.

At some point, you have to start building something for yourself, Because the truth is, most self-proclaimed big accounts don’t really care about small creators, and the signs are there.

Check:
- the number of people they follow back
- the kind of accounts they interact with (most - times, only people on their level)
- how often they retweet small creators (they don’t)

Someone was saying recently that she supports small accounts. I checked her page and noticed she doesn’t retweet small creators at all, not even their comments. And honestly, the easiest way to support a small creator is to help push their tweets.

For me, I’ve decided to unfollow any big account that doesn’t practice what they preach. The big and small accounts that genuinely support me are enough for me to grow with.

This isn’t an agenda against anyone.
It’s just the truth: most people who claim to care… don’t.
