Teaching that slavery, segregation, and racism happened isn’t teaching Americans to hate America. It’s teaching Americans what America overcame and what it still has to learn from. If a museum exhibit makes you hate America, maybe your issue is with the facts, not the museum.
I'm 100% convinced that a couple of decades from now, history will remember contemporary western islamophobia, the same way it remembers anti-catholicism and antisemitism of the 19th and 20th century. Fuck Republicans and anyone who's too stupid to be on the right side of history
My Sicilian Catholic grandparents were discriminated against and demonized for being Catholic when they immigrated to US in late 1800's. Now we have the head of the Catholic league openly trafficking in anti-Muslim hate. Despicable!
If you’re furious about Mamdani attending a 9/11 memorial but perfectly fine with Trump lying about being rescued from the rubble at Ground Zero. Congratulations, you’re in a cult.
Republicans calling for Mamdani to stay away from the 9/11 memorial are not normal people. If you cant stop to consider what it means for a 9 y/o to witness a terrorist attack in their own city (i.e., Mamdani) just because they're muslim, you belong in an insane asylum, period.
