This whole Web3 is Crypto argument on my last post opened my eyes to something deeper:

A lot of people don’t know how to differentiate things.
Not in Web3.
Not in career building.
Not even in their own skillset.

The same way some of you confidently shout,
“Web3 is crypto!”
is the exact same way many newbies shout,
“Content writing is my niche!”
“Design is my niche!”
“Community management is my niche!”

No.
Let’s slow down before we confuse the next set of people we onboard.

Stay with me..

1. Your Skill Is WHAT You Do.

This is your actual ability the thing you can perform.

Examples:

→ Writing

→ Social media management

→ Community management

→ Research

→ Graphics Design

→ Storytelling

→ Technical writing

→ Growth Strategist

→ Video editing

These are skills.
Tools in your hand.
Talents you use to create or solve problems.

But a skill, on its own, does NOT define your direction.

2. Your Niche Is WHERE You Use That Skill.

Your niche is not what you do it’s who you serve and what space you play in.

In Web3, your niche could be:

→ DeFi

→ NFTs

→ Gaming

→ L2 ecosystems

→ Security

→ Education

→ RWA

→ DAOs

→ AI x Web3 etc.

These are industries.
Categories.
Specializations.
Not skills.

This is why “content writing” can NEVER be your niche.(I've seen a lot of Newbies say this ).😹😹

3. The Money Comes From the Combination.

This is where most Newbies miss it they have the skill but don’t know where to apply it.

If you want to earn, you need Skill + Niche.

Examples:

Skill: Writing
Niche: DeFi
→ Paid to write explainers, guides, docs, threads.

Skill: Social Media Management
Niche: Gaming
→ Paid monthly to run X/Discord for Web3 games.

Skill: Research
Niche: L2 ecosystems
→ Paid to create reports, competitive analysis, insights.

Skill: Design
Niche: NFTs
→ Paid to create storytelling visuals and brand assets.

Skill: Content Creation
Niche: AI x Web3
→ Paid to simplify complex concepts and grow communities.

It’s the pairing that creates demand.
It’s the pairing that creates value.
It’s the pairing that gets you paid.

4. Why Newbies Stay Stuck.

Because they’re doing this:

Skill = Niche
Niche = Skill
Everything = Everything

The confusion is loud.

The same way some of you argued that Web3 was crypto is the same way many of you argue that “writing is my niche.”

You can’t build mastery like that.
You can’t position yourself like that.
You can’t earn with clarity when you don’t even know what lane you occupy.

5. The Moment You Separate Skill from Niche, Your Direction Changes.

Now you say things like:
“I’m a DeFi writer.”
“I create visuals for NFT collections.”
“I do SMM for gaming projects.”
“I’m a researcher for L2 ecosystems.”
“I’m an educator in AI x Web3.”

This is what makes you discoverable.
This is what makes people trust your expertise.
This is what makes founders hire you.

Clarity is currency.
The earlier you get it, the faster you grow.

BECOMING A WEB3 SMM...WHAT I STRUGGLED WITH TODAY
Not gonna lie , showing up isn't always easy. Today I struggled with content ideas!. It's not that I didn't want to post but choosing the right format that educates and engages..? Whewwww😮‍💨.
