Buddy, we are one month into the year.
The initial rush of January has settled, and the data is starting to come in. Before you rush into a new set of goals or a different strategy for February, I want to suggest something contrarian: You should do this month exactly the same way you did the last one.
But there is a condition.
You should only repeat your January patterns if you are genuinely satisfied with the harvest those patterns produced. So take a moment to look at the numbers and the state of your life right now.
If you are happy with the level of influence you have at work and the value you added to your company in January, stay the course.
If you are happy with the state of your relationship or marriage and the depth of connection you felt with your partner because of the intentional work you put in, don’t change a thing.
If you are happy with your bank account and the value exchange you created last month, keep your habits exactly as they are.
If you are happy with your physical energy and the mental clarity you gained from your January discipline, then your current system is working.
If you are happy with your spiritual awareness and the consistency of your fellowship with God over the last thirty-one days, you have found your rhythm.
If you are happy with the way you’ve grown and the specific, intentional steps you took to advance your skills, then February should be a carbon copy of January.
However, if there is a gap between where you are today and where you intended to be, the logic is simple. You cannot expect a different harvest if you are planting the same seeds.
February isn’t just another month. It is the first real test of your resolve once the “new year” feeling fades.
Look at your results. If they aren’t what you wanted, change the input. If they are exactly what you wanted, then your only job is to repeat the work.
