What a difference a year makes! 1/
@busblog@dmitri_dolgov@Waymo Look, obviously you disagree with me here regarding freedom or are not hearing me on that front.
There is also the fact that if you are traveling and if you are on your own, you have more room for luggage vs you and a driver plus luggage.
Again, the same freedom you have.
@busblog@dmitri_dolgov@Waymo Try to do some math on your side to figure out how much you actually drive and how much you would spend on such a situation. Also consider that I am not in the same living situation as you as far as ease of access to public transportation.
@busblog@dmitri_dolgov@Waymo I don't think your logic is right. Data is good. The less sparse areas will be easier to roll out in. I will say again that when I was using Uber/Lyft for work, it was about $6k/year and the place of work was 10 miles from my house. Again this is just going to work.
@busblog@dmitri_dolgov@Waymo I am still beholden to the hours humans are available.
I assume you drive? If so, do you need to ask permission to go somewhere? No. You just go.
I want that same freedom you have.
When I worked in an office years ago, over $6k just to go to work per year. Nowhere else.
@busblog@dmitri_dolgov@Waymo There are a limited amount of drivers sometimes, sometimes drivers cancel before arriving, sometimes their cars are hard to find or park in unexpected places. Just some examples.
