@esaagar @AbdulElSayed This is sadly the reality we live in here in Michigan due to Proposal A and Headlee being passed decades ago. It shifts the tax burden overwhelmingly to new homeowners. Long time homeowners benefit from lower taxes and equity while consuming more city services than new buyers.

Many red states projects are funded by taxes paid by New Yorkers, so it's kind of ridiculous to label it as waste without offering up a different NY project.
