Here’s the simple breakdown👇
1. Before the attack (about 13 hours earlier)
•A big trader (maybe a whale or a competitor) withdrew $3M USDC from OKX.
•They split that money into 19 different wallets, a common trick people use to hide activity and spread risk.
2. Building the trap (around 14:45 CET / 13:45 UTC)
•All those wallets deposited funds into Hyperliquid.
•The trader opened massive long positions on POPCAT — a very volatile memecoin with low liquidity.
•They placed around $20M worth of buy orders at $0.21 per POPCAT.
•Across all 19 wallets, their positions reached about $30M, creating a huge buy wall that pushed the price up and made it look stable.
3. The liquidation trigger (seconds later)
•Suddenly, the trader removed the entire buy wall (canceled the support).
•POPCAT’s price crashed instantly.
•All their $20–30M long positions were liquidated within seconds.
•On Hyperliquid, liquidations transfer the bad positions onto HLP — so HLP ended up holding the giant losing trade.
4. The damage
•POPCAT kept dumping, making the loss even worse.
•HLP took a $4.9M loss — wiping out roughly three months of profit in one blow.
•Hyperliquid’s team manually closed the bad position to stop further losses.
•As a safety measure, the Arbitrum bridge was temporarily paused (everything else kept working fine).
I just read one of the most insane and inspiring posts I’ve seen in a while.
@Cbb0fe Started with $40–50k, ended up with tens of millions of dollars in a year. Built everything from scratch, custom infra, private nodes, and a sniper system that ran across chains before anyone else even understood mempools.
🔹 Turned single snipes like $YMPL, $VIDYA, $CHADS into 6–7 figure profits
🔹 Scaled to 200+ AWS nodes chasing milliseconds of edge
🔹 Stayed ahead of every new anti snipe and launchpad meta, when anti snipe measures became a problem, he turned them into an advantage.
From a bear market survivor to building generational freedom.
I wonder what you are building next @Cbb0fe ...
Why you should long $PURR in the next few hours/days.
Back in Nov 2023, Hyperliquid Point Season began, and there’s heavy speculation it might happen again around the same dates.
When S3 launches, both HYPE and PURR could skyrocket (last season users who traded Purr got more points for the $hype airdrop).
Worst case, it’s delayed and might be end of December or later on.
Best case, we get S3 at November (when they launched points season)🐾
Hyperliquid's points program (S1) started on nov 1, 2023.
Its October 2025 and with that date getting really close are we gonna see a season 3 points distribution this year? or will it be Hidden Points s3 (HIP-3) 👀
"Points are meant to reward users who contribute to the protocol’s success." (HyperEVM Included)
I wrote a message about that scammer trying to impersonate me on tg. Coupe of ppls mentioned he dm’ed them and tried the same technique,
My user name is with a lowercase L and the scammer is using “i”.
I’ve started Pacifica OTC tg channel, in the hope of brining value to the Pacifica ecosystem.
@Sufficient_Lev@0xak_@serpinxbt Thank you dude, I appreciate the help.
Lmk if you have any suggestions how I can limit the scammers or make the process more secure
