On April 25th, I attended the Marketing Room, a gathering point for the Web3 community to discuss marketing, personal growth, and the broader Web3 landscape, organized by @Anonofweb3.

During the session, @Anonofweb3 highlighted an upcoming event, Base Batch, scheduled for April 26th on Lagos Island. Promptly, I researched the event, registered for free, and participated the next day.

Event Recap: Base Batch Lagos

Upon arrival, attendees were warmly welcomed by @__iamcharis and @Cryptems.

For newcomers to the global onchain economy, @iamgrammyboy delivered a comprehensive briefing, offering detailed insights that were highly educational.

Following the onboarding session, @__iamcharis facilitated onchain identity creation (Base names) for all new participants, myself included.

@ToochukwuOkoro2, founder of @useazza, shared his journey from building @useazza during last year’s buildathon to the current achievements of Azzadefi, emphasizing the platform’s value to the community. The @useazza team was also present, onboarding additional users.

Networking remained a core aspect of the IRL workshop, complemented by food and refreshments to energize builders.

The agenda featured another workshop led by @Kc_Pele and included remarkable speakers such as @_jboflagos, @ToochukwuOkoro2, and @iamgrammyboy.

The Base Batches IRL workshop in Lagos was a resounding success, and it was a pleasure connecting with everyone.

@Prinz_Land recently shared a photo of notes taken during a space he attended hosted by @Vindicatedchidi, which sparked some negative reactions because many look up to @Prinz_Land as an idolo.

From this experience, here are the lessons I personally learned:

Always Keep Learning and Stay Open to New Ideas
No matter how much you think you know, continuous learning is essential. Being open to new perspectives helps you grow both personally and professionally.

Respect Everyone’s Right to Their Own Opinion:
Different views should never harm your business relationships. It’s important to accept that people can think differently without it affecting your collaboration or respect for them.

Embrace Diversity of Thought:
Different ideas challenge your beliefs and encourage growth. Engaging in healthy discussions, even when opinions differ, is a valuable way to expand your understanding.

Don’t Turn Against Someone Just Because Your Friend Disagrees:
In the crypto world, or any industry, people ahead of you might have different opinions. This doesn’t mean you should hate or speak badly about them. Respect differing viewpoints.

Focus on Your Own Progress:
Avoid getting distracted by conflicts between others. Concentrate on improving your own skills and knowledge to advance your journey.

Avoid Holding Grudges:
You might be surprised to see people who once disagreed working together later on. Holding grudges could cause you to miss out on valuable opportunities and collaborations.
