1️⃣ Eating out

Dining at restaurants or ordering takeout regularly can be costly.

I love going out for dinner but it's not the easiest thing to do when saving money.

When you do, you don't need to choose the most expensive restaurants either.

Some of the best recommendations are quite often cheaper ones.

2️⃣ Downsize your living space

Most people spend way to much on rent or their mortgage when they barely use any of the total space they pay for.

Choose a larger space when you can truly afford it and left the rat race.

3️⃣ Designer clothes

Almost all of the nice looking clothes can be found on both brands and non-brands.

Quite often they look exactly the same.

Just not the brand logo on it.

200$ shoes or 100$ pants are rarely ever worth it since you always pay for the logo.

I would even consider this tip if you are already wealthy and free.

4️⃣ Cars

Fancy cars have been called one of the worst investments in the world.

They might look nice but are totally unnecessary.

There's a speed limit on the road so you will never be able to even outrun the smallest car you will ever see next to you.

Each car will also drive you from A to B without any single disadvantage.

It's fine if you want a fancy car but I'd rather laugh at the person in his Mercedes driving to work while I drive my little Ford to the beach.

Remember you didn't pay with money. You paid with 5 years of your life.

A cheaper car can cut your retirement age by 5 years.

5️⃣ Fancy gadgets

I talked to my mom quite often about this topic.

"Mom, why do you have an iPhone?"

Aren't you just reading e-mails and browsing Twitter?

Yeah but it's an apple phone.

In this day and age gadgets have exceeded most of our human capabilities.

Your phone does 10x times more than you are using it for.

The cheapest phones in the world can all browse the web as well right now.

The price of gadgets have gone through the roof and are really unnecessary.

Although there are many more examples out there, these are some of the more notable ones.

Are you allowed to have all these things?

Sure! It just depends on what situation you are in and what you currently what to prioritize in your quest for freedom.

It also depends on what you really use and need.

I have a fancier phone myself but I really use it to the limit since I'm quite tech savvy.

But most people don't fit the category they pay for.

Also something I picked up from experience in my surroundings:

No matter how much money you have, everything can be spend.

If you finally attain the freedom you desire and raise your life expenses considerably it won't take long before you find yourself at the same job you stood before.
