#Easter Week questions:
If Jesus is God, did God die on Good Friday?
Jesus announced, 'It is finished,' before he died. So why did he go on to actually die?
I explore the answers by asking:
What does Christ's crucifixion tell us about the nature of hell?

What gave rise to this last post?
My discomfort at how Christians prophesy following dreadful floods, wildfires, pandemics, volcanic eruptions, earthquakes and tsunamis, and use those natural disasters as metaphors promising that God is going to break into history – our history.
Why do Christians use natural catastrophes as evidence that God wants to bless people?
I say: "Disasters are not and can never be metaphors for blessing."
Can anyone show me from Scripture that this statement is false?

Hope and pray Justin is right. I love his book and Podcast. I am convinced there is a rebirth of faith in Christ among public intellectuals - but how much farther does it reach? Christ have mercy.

Great to see that a respected and evangelical Bible scholar like Ian Paul @Psephizo is also convinced that #Annihilationism fits best with what the Bible says.

"How can one account for the rise of the extraordinary prestige of victims, as a category, in the contemporary world?" asks Wilfred McClay in this long but well-reasoned article on guilt and forgiveness:

@AJWTheology@timsuffield@AJWTheology this document is both undated, and unsigned. Its weight and its utility would be greatly enhanced, I believe, if (1) it was dated, and (2) it listed the people who drafted and agreed the wording. Your thoughts?

Well said @KSPrior (Karen Swallow Prior) - and sad to see so many people attacking her in the comments!

What a great article in CT from @petescazzero who is worth following for his wisdom.

Karen Swallow Prior's Substack called 'The Priory' is a gem of a read. As a long-time admirer of the Metaphysical Poets like #JohnDonne and George Herbert, I have so enjoyed her series that is just winding up.
