Our group at Karolinska Institute focuses on radiotherapy-induced late complications in paediatric brain cancer patients and treatment strategies to fight them.
Check out a new paper in @NeuroOnc by our PhD student @RuchiyYana and team using novel computational methods to describe the genomic evolution of #medulloblastoma and identify potentially targetable biomarkers of tumour progression 🧠 @EditorNeuro
Extremely proud of our students @mariaquerolc and Casandra Salinas for successfully defending their Master’s theses in neuroscience contributing to finding new ways to prevent neuroinflammation and exploring new treatments of pediatric CNS tumors! 👶👧🧠
Excited about our @AhmedOs99285689 and @alelastrarom raising awareness of long-term cognitive complications in paediatric brain tumour survivors in the latest interview by @karolinskainst. Read the full interview here: https://t.co/5FDm1yuZ3p
Proud to announce our new publication by @AhmedOs99285689 and @alelastrarom in @NeuroOnc where we identified #EDA2R as a new liquid biopsy biomarker of radiation-induced brain injuries! Check it out here: https://t.co/GNuTJ4UTfJ
We are very proud of our PhD student @alelastrarom for completing a one-month internship at @EbbaBiotech where he was working on the development of the Optotracer technology.
Our PhD student @thaliapreka has just arrived at @MIT to start her 3-month internship at @manoliskellis lab where she will be studying microglia dynamics in health and inflammation/injury, including AD, working on scRNA analysis and predict responses applied to humans and mice.
Our project on the effects of radiotherapy to the brain in children and young people with brain tumors was one of the 224 that received a grant from the @Cancerfonden! . #tillsammansmotcancer#cancerfonden https://t.co/7uyOuuGDkC
What a day! What an experience it was!
Congratulations to @GiusyPizzirusso for a great talk and great discussion!
I also enjoyed the nice comments and questions from the audience in my talk!
Extremely thankful to @SfNtweets for the opportunity!
Thrilled to announce our new paper on the role of #memantine treatment in improving #cognition post-radiotherapy in mice and we are hoping our findings will facilitate the improvements of treatment protocols for our young #braintumour patients 👧👶

Great opportunity to share our work in @CancerNeurosci1 conference in Heidelberg representing @BlomgrenLab. I'm very happy to have given my first oral presentation in a meeting with many outstanding scientists.
Our postdoc @DrCFDR and our PhD student @RuchiyYana presenting their posters on paediatric brain tumour research this week at the Pediatric SNO 2023 conference in Washington DC 🎉 #SNOPeds
Our PhD student Alejandro Lastra-Romero @alelastrarom has taken the second place in the @StratNeuro 2023 picture competition for his photograph of hippocampus taken using a confocal microscope 👏🎉🥳 #neuroscience
Our PhD student @thaliapreka presenting her poster on alterations in #microglia after a cranial #irradiation at the poster blitz during the 2023 @StratNeuro retreat.
Last Thursday our students - Daniela Nunes and Christodoulos Zisiadis - have graduated from their Master’s Programmes at @karolinskainst and made us all very proud 🥳🎉👏
P.S., in the second picture they are attempting to make a “B” for “Blomgren” 😅
