Sakshi won the gold medal fair and square but it was really lovely to see her embrace Ruby White and have a few words with her at the end. Ruby, who has been introduced at the arena as 'Pocket Rocket' right through these Games, is only 19.

And she came into the Games with a reputation of being a phenom. Had apparently not lost an amateur bout since she was 11, a win streak that had gone past 70. But ended today.

That's why evidently she was sobbing that much at the end. A first defeat of this nature in goodness how long. Tough for the youngster, but good on Sakshi to have a moment with her vanquished opponent.

@crickashish217 In 70 matches Kohli, Rahane& pujara played together, Kohli avg. 50.8, pujara 43.4, rahane just 38 and, rahane was the one batting at 5, Pujara was facing new ball at 3. unless pitches magically got tougher for him only in these matches, his numbers say everything i need to learn.

@BoriaMajumdar In his last 53 Tests, Rahane avged 32. to put this in context, murali vijay, centurion of Brisbane nd trentbridge, top scorer of Eng,2nd best in Aus, 95 at lords, 97 in SA and all this as opener was dropped unceremoniously after averaging 35.12 in 19 Tests in the same time period
