Human trafficking advocates meet survivors where they are at; providing them with services they need to thrive and dismantle systems that make survivors vulnerable. #WKUsocialworkHT
@AlexCastlen I oppose this bill too; school is one of the few places that students and children feel safe. Who are we to take that away from them? Children have a right just as much as anyone else to express themselves freely.
I support HB 117 prohibits discrimination based on sex, sexual orientation and gender identity in public areas. The NASW advocates social justice for vulnerable and oppressed individuals. #wkusocialworkpolicy
@TerryStasuik I support this bill,it's unbelievable that they don't receive or are denied the same benefits as other veterans. They served just like everyone else and should be treated just the same.
@TerryStasuik I support this policy,no one should be denied healthcare. The purpose of insurance is to provide the money for treatment that individuals can’t afford not force them to go without it because they’ll have to pay out of pocket.
@MartinPigram I support this policy, the aging is a generation that can be easily taken advantage from their guardianship. They have come full circle in life and need to be helped and taken care of like a small child. It’s amazes me how some guardians abuse their power!
@MartinPigram I support SB 63, hair is simply just that hair. Someone shouldn’t be judged for the style of their hair. Students should be more focused on their education rather than singling another out for their chosen hairstyle.
@TerryStasuik I support HB 233, pregnant women and new mothers have other things to worry about than whether or not they will receive healthcare. That should be one less worry that they should have to deal with. Racism is not dead as many like to think, just more craftily hidden.
Support HB 276 which allows Medicaid eligibility to expand to pregnant women and new mothers up to 12 months regardless of citizenship. NASW supports policies to provide healthcare to vulnerable populations. #wkusocialworkpolicy
Support HB125 it updates, publishes, and distributes information to aid individuals' knowledge/awareness of Alzheimer. This a common disease prevalent among the aging generation. The NASW advocates for the #wkusocialworkpolicy
Using a trauma informed treatment approach for victims of human trafficking. Trauma informed recognizes that there is no "quick fix" to repair the unimaginable horrors to their body, mind and soul. #WKUsocialworkHT

HB516 Creates funding and educates the public on mental health, depression, and suicide prevention. NASW states that as social workers we advocate, educate, and support the needs of a vulnerable population.
@Ltodd20 We have come a long way since we stopped institutionalizing people for having a mental illness. However, we still have a far way to go in order to provide those with mental illness the proper help and care that they need.
@TerryStasuik It's unbelievable how many individuals needs mental health services but have no access to them. I support this bill, allowing more staff to help a growing and overwhelming population get the help they need.
@TerryStasuik I support this bill,it’ll help get more individuals who want to go into the healthcare workforce more of a chance when they can’t afford it.
@AlexCastlen I support this bill, mothers especially new mothers who may or not have they support need help. I can’t wait to see what all this bill entails.
Health inequity, social determinants of health that can jeopardize the quality of healthcare received. As social workers our job is to pursue change on the behalf of the vulnerable and opposed populations, according to the Code of Ethics. #WKUsocialworkpolicy

@TerryStasuik I would support this bill,a line needs to be drawn. Charges need to be identified correctly so that way proper sentencing can be done. To help further the justice process along and keep families and individuals from suffering more.
@Ltodd20 I would support this bill the individual going through domestic abuse/violence,sexual assault, and stalking is already going through enough and for them not to have insurance cover them because of what they are going through is mind blowing.
