Today, your Bloomfield Firefighters had the honor of assisting at the Mayor Mundell & Bloomfield Township Annual Thanksgiving Food Giveaway.
This incredible community event is made possible by the hard work and generosity of so many contributors across our Township.
All Bloomfield Firefighters recently participated in a specialized “Through the Lock” training class taught by @establishcommand . This hands-on course gave our firefighters the opportunity to practice gaining entry through a wide variety of doors and locking mechanisms.
Pictured here are several training evolutions featuring our volunteer members working alongside our career staff. Since volunteers will find themselves operating on scenes with career personnel, regular joint training is essential for building cohesion and maintaining efficiency.
On top of our recent hose and ladder testing, all of our engine companies also completed their annual pump testing and certifications. Each fire engine was put through its paces, pumping thousands of gallons of water to ensure every pump is operating at peak performance.
A little over a month ago, the Bloomfield Fire Department proudly promoted two Battalion Chiefs and four Captains. After a month in their new roles, we’re taking a moment to look back at this special day and celebrate their continued leadership and dedication to our community.
This past week, several of our Captains and future officers took part in the ICS-300 course taught by @firetrainingandconsultants
This training builds on the fundamentals of incident command and prepares our officers to effectively manage complex emergencies.
Today we honor and thank all who have served our country in the United States Armed Forces.
The Bloomfield Fire Department proudly recognizes our own members who have also worn the uniform and continue to serve our community with the same dedication and courage.
Group 2 members participated in a training evolution focusing on rope and knot skills, as well as hoisting tools to the roof of a building. In many situations, it can be safer and more efficient to move equipment to upper levels using ropes rather than carrying it by hand.
As we turn our clocks back this weekend, it’s also a great time to check your smoke and carbon monoxide detectors. Take a moment to test each alarm and replace the batteries if needed. Working detectors are one of the simplest and most effective ways to keep your family safe.

This intensive program builds advanced skills in rope systems and rescue operations.
Last evening, Engine 4 was requested to respond into the City of Clifton to cover Station 6 while Clifton units operated at a fully involved auto shop fire. While on the cover assignment, Engine 4 responded to a dumpster fire, and a working structure fire.
Would you know what to do if a grease fire started in your kitchen?
At our open house, BC Zurlo demonstrated the dangers of adding water to a stovetop fire. Pouring water on a grease fire can cause the flames to spread rapidly beyond the pan and throughout the kitchen.
Check out this reel featuring some of the highlights from yesterday’s Bloomfield Fire Department Open House! We can’t thank everyone enough for coming out and helping make the day such a great success.•
