A story which you cannot understand the character’s motivations and unique outlook also makes stories appear unreal and lacking in depth.

Haiti abolished slavery on threat of violence the non Christian world did it on threat of economic damage.

@MyGineration @matthewdmarsden If my assumptions are correct then an example of a woke movie would be Star Wars ep 7. You could contrast this with a movie such as Aliens where the lead character is flawed and their knowledge and actions are explained by their journey.

@MyGineration @matthewdmarsden I have commonly taken it to mean a film where the lead character has no flaws, there is no real struggle for them to overcome and they learn nothing from their journey. The only conflict experienced is that of unfair oppression and marginalisation.
