Harry is asking British taxpayers to fund permanent police protection after choosing to quit as a working royal and move to California. Taylor Swift pays for private security, and any additional policing is based on specific events and threat assessments - not a lifetime entitlement.

He and Meghan walked away from the duties that came with those privileges. They wanted independence while continuing to profit from their royal titles and connections. You don’t get to resign from the role and keep all of the perks.

Taylor Swift is a false comparison. Any additional policing around her concerts relates to specific events and specific threat assessments. That’s a very different issue from asking for ongoing taxpayer-funded police protection for yourself and your family.

Harry and Meghan live in Montecito and have the means to pay for private security, just like countless other wealthy public figures. Being fifth in line to the throne isn’t a lifetime entitlement to publicly funded protection. Actions have consequences- even if you’re the King’s son.
