@GenePark@DestinLegarie Let's be honest - that doesn't say anything. We're platforming the drama on both sides a little too much. It will only die down when those with influence ignore it. There's a more interesting conversation to have but no one dares to have it until studios close and layoffs happen.
@franmirabella And whether it's related or not (not into social politics) - that is one aspect in the gamedev cycle other than bloat and turn-over that's a thorn Sony's side atm. https://t.co/lG5uCQVu1s
@franmirabella It gives them time to adjust to feedback - not overhauls, but messaging considering the nature of online discourse. This game is a response to the decade-old change in pushing for more inclusiveness - not bad inherently, but can miss the mark - like the Star Wars IP.
@kiwitalkz They've never been 100% exclusive. Since GBC, they always made games on other platforms. But it's nuanced - it will never be absolute. Outside of X/YT comments, no one cares. The general market is just looking for accessibility.
@TravisV_YT There are enough people that can afford these niche machines. Look at all the iterations of handheld PCs. If they weren't successful they wouldn't keep making them. Xbox/Nintendo (your later comment) have way different expectations.
@HoegLaw This is interesting. I've been building a SHMUP in Godot thanks to Claude Code (42 yrs old, finally can make a game). But I'm afraid it would be judged based on that. https://t.co/nD7nPuWw12
@SonicHero3D We should start calling out these people instead of vague posting. It's the only way to call for accountability and stop this nonsense. Because it really is just a minority and posts like these give them a voice.
@DarkIxion Like all things, there are differing opinions. But we should probably ignore the noise. Unless this is an engagement tweet, which I apologize.
@ZhugeEX 100% acceptable, and frankly, a dereliction of duty (and squandering of available resources) if they were to not use the tools at their disposal.
@Nick_Marseil Have any data to back that up? I remember, in general, it was regarded as 'fine'. But it also pushed multiplayer which affected the end result. Or is there someone specific you are referring to? Maybe @ them.
@oliver_drk He's praised the 2018 game many times. I think calling him bitter and disgruntled is the wrong move. Can you expand on "out of the loop"? Between developer interviews and the many games each week he plays and analyzes, I think it's wrong to assert an assumption just because.
