Had a wide-ranging conversation with @JeremyPKeil for his podcast about what's gone haywire in our politics and what we all can do about it. Thanks for having me on your show, Jeremy!

When I ran for governor in 2018, I cringed every time I heard a certain comment about Scott Walker's qualifications to be governor.
My response to the comment was the same then as it is now.

Inaugural post on the More Verb Than Noun blog...about how we find ourselves living in a state of emergency. Not one single emergency, mind you. Six all at once.

These are troubled times for sure. Trying and painful days lie ahead. Whether today feels like 1927 or 1861, it bears remembering that the Union and American democracy survived those trials of fire. Keep the faith. Better days are coming.
What does #ULTRAMAGA even mean? Truth has to be spoken plainly, not in code. The GOP has allowed itself to be turned into a bigoted and fascist party. Come out and say it.

Will be on @DevilRadio927 tomorrow evening on this new show sponsored by @WIGrassrootsNwk talking about the shifting currents of rural politics. Looking forward to taking part in the conversation.
Recent op-ed on the folly of Wisconsin turning down available federal #Medicaid funds to expand #BadgerCare was turned into a video by the folks at @BuildingUnityWI. https://t.co/HUHBAzgK4e
REPORT: 1 year, 530k deaths, 29 million cases & 78 million lost jobs into the pandemic, America's 657 billionaires have profiteered their way to $1.3 trillion in gains. That's a 44% windfall since last March.
Their pandemic profits alone could fund 2/3 of the #AmericanRescuePlan
"I won't accept $1,400 from the government to help make it through a public health crisis because it didn't get bipartisan approval," said no normal person ever.
Pressure is building for the governor to press harder in the upcoming budget cycle to get some things done for the state, "potentially a considerable challenge for a governor who spent much of his career out of the political maelstrom." https://t.co/wPGzACruw8 via @WiStateJournal
ICYMI... yesterday's conversation with Dom and Crute @devilradio about how to make the next state budget a decent one for the working class. https://t.co/WPjgeAQaMo
When Mike was running for governor he put forward a plan to make Wisconsin the first state in the nation to test a #BasicIncome program. Now at least it looks like it will be tried locally in the state's second largest city. Nice step forward. #UBI
Great to see cities being able to be laboratories of democracy! Long term the US will need some version of a guaranteed income and proud to see my home city being a part of showing proof of concept. https://t.co/asnPSejIkx via @WIExaminer
Truth to power @billhogseth. Mike started his run for governor from the farm where he grew up, talking about forgotten people living in forgotten places. He still is.
Democrats can win rural counties again someday, but they’ll need to try. They can start by showing a willingness to fight for rural people.
Thanks to @politico for publishing my reflections from Dunn County, WI on the 2020 elections
