The US couldn't appeal, the suspension was because the review broke protocol. So yes it's exactly like the Ronaldo suspension, except for what round it applied, which is completely irrelevant.

@HITCSevens Disagree with this completely. Fifa officials broke protocol reviewing and overturning the call. The US were down a man, when shouldn't have, for 30 minutes and still won. The incorrect suspension was lifted and we move on. The only story here is FIFA breaking protocol in game.
