@Axaxia88 They need an underground tunnel for the wildlife like out here in the Coachella Valley. We have them for the desert tortoises & other wildlife.
Dear @WhiteHouse, my name is Rodney Smith Jr., founder of Raising Men & Women Lawn Care Service in Huntsville, Alabama. Through our 50 Yard Challenge, over 6,000 kids across the country have signed up to mow free lawns for the elderly, disabled, veterans, active-duty military, first responders, and single parents. With America celebrating its 250th birthday this year and me also being born on July 4th, I wanted to humbly ask if a few kids from our program and myself could travel to Washington, D.C. to help mow the White House lawn for this historic celebration.
More than anything, I want these kids to see how a simple act of service something as ordinary as mowing a lawn for someone in need can lead to extraordinary places. What better lesson in community service than showing them that helping others can take them all the way to our nation’s capital? I’d also love to bring my American flag-themed mower in hopes that the President might sign it, so I can later auction it off and donate 100% of the proceeds to a nonprofit supporting veterans. It would be a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to highlight the importance of service, patriotism, and the impact young people can have when they choose to make a difference. 🇺🇸

Aaron: This is the first baby elephant I have ever rescued. I found Tofu at a tourist camp where visitors rode elephants. Tofu will be the first elephant we release back into the wild. 🐘💓
The day we successfully negotiated Tofu’s freedom, they let him go in the middle of the forest. The moment the chains were removed was incredibly meaningful. After that, we brought a previously rescued female elephant to guide Tofu.
When Tofu stepped across the small stream, he was officially free. This marks the boundary of our land.
The most amazing moment was when Tofu met Mandala – the matriarch. The two of them looked at each other as if they had known each other in a past life. Tofu was quickly accepted and integrated into the herd.
🚨 BREAKING: Longtime 60 Minutes correspondent Scott Pelley has been fired by CBS News, effective immediately.
After a heated staff meeting where he publicly criticized new leadership and recent changes at the show, CBS let him go.
Off the coast of Portugal, a diver was busy with underwater repairs when he noticed an octopus hovering nearby. At first, he paid it no mind, until the octopus began to help.
Each time he reached for a wrench or dropped a bolt, a tentacle slid in, offering it back like a quiet partner from the deep.
When he surfaced, no one believed him. So, he set up cameras and captured the proof: an octopus calmly passing tools to a human. The footage went viral.
Asked about it later, the diver just smiled.
“I’m just glad I had a little help down there.”
"An unbelievable honor."
With the race still too soon to call, Republican California gubernatorial candidate Steve Hilton thanks his supporters in the state, saying as a "proud American," it's an honor to have gotten the support he's received.
"One million Californians, and rising, putting their hopes in me to bring change and put our state back on track, it's an unbelievable honor."
"We've got to turn this state around, and I think tonight looks like the first step down that very important road."
Opossums live short, difficult lives, yet they spend their nights doing work many people never see.
Most only live about one to two years in the wild. They move through backyards, forests, roadsides, and neighborhoods after dark, searching for food while avoiding cars, dogs, predators, and harsh weather. Their lives are brief, but their role in nature is meaningful.
Opossums help clean the world around you. They eat pests, insects, carrion, and sometimes even venomous snakes. They also help reduce ticks, which can carry disease. In their quiet way, they support the balance of the places they pass through.
Still, many people fear them because of how they look or because they appear at night. But opossums are usually shy, gentle animals. When scared, they often freeze, hiss, drool, or play dead because they want to survive, not attack.
Kindness can be simple. Give them space. Do not harm them. Slow down when you see one near the road. Let them keep doing the work nature gave them.
Opossums may not live long, but they leave the world cleaner than they found it.
BREAKING: At least one person has been killed and more than 60 have been wounded after Iran launched a barrage of missiles and drones at Kuwait and Bahrain overnight.
CENTCOM says an additional wave of drones attempting to attack U.S. forces in Kuwait were downed and that no American personnel or assets were harmed.
The escalation comes as the Trump administration continues nuclear talks with Iran, while maintaining that sanctions relief will depend on Tehran agreeing to strict limits on its nuclear program, @TreyYingst reports
Ryan Ward says he blacked out after hitting his first Major League homer run of his career for the Dodgers today 😂
“I hit it and just kind of went numb. Watching it go over the fence was really cool and an incredible feeling.”
Wonderful, breaking news!
Early this morning, ex-orphan Melia returned to introduce a brand new baby girl to Head Keeper Benjamin and the rest of the Ithumba team.
Moon, as we’ve named her, is Melia’s second baby. She is a lovely little elephant, bold and brimming with character.
More to come, but we wanted to share the news in real time. Supporters like you make these stories possible: enabling us to rescue orphans like Melia, dedicate years to their recovery, and help them reclaim their place in the wild – paving the way for a new generation of wild elephants, like baby Moon.
