@sparquah@ParanoidDigest@ABC7NY Like the majority of individuals are *not* capable of Real Action. That’s what organization is for. If you’re the type of person willing to throw your life away for nothing you’re also likely the type to think a glass and concrete building can catch fire with 5gallons of gas
@sparquah@ParanoidDigest@ABC7NY Have you considered the possibility that this was simply a stupid person? Why do you believe that every individual morally driven to act must necessarily also be the type of person capable of pulling something off?
I've visited Turkish and Indian prisons and those could be some pretty bleak places depending on where you wind up but the thought of doing time in a US prison- especially in the south- deeply terrifies me. Like the conditions of mass incarceration in the US are *so bad*
@memesq@_GenerationWhy_@HegelUndrstnder You both structurally depend on eachother to do your job. I don’t think whether or not you’d personally invite them to an amusement park on a weekend is the point
@HegelUndrstnder@_GenerationWhy_ Saying this from firsthand exp; the private lawyers who fashion themselves as bulldogs or whatever n fighting every little thing just do that to keep collecting fees, then the case ends up resolving how it would’ve anyways without D going 10-100k in the hole. It’s v predatory
@HegelUndrstnder@_GenerationWhy_ I hear you I just think you’re being p naive, there’s no “clean” defense attnys by virtue of 90% of the job boiling down to negotiating pleas.
In event you’re ever charged with smth you’re literally better off with the PD who knows the prosecutor. Crim law isn’t a radical space
@HegelUndrstnder@_GenerationWhy_ Private defense attorneys less so, but a very high proportion of them used to actually be prosecutors, which is never the case for PDs. Pick your poison lol
@HegelUndrstnder@_GenerationWhy_ Doesn’t matter what you want lol they’re in court together at least 2 days a week bc they’re typically assigned to the same judge. They chat it up and curry each other’s favor
@RadicalRobMedia@fxrmaIine@esjesjesj You’re actually an idiot lol. “Charges lowered” wtf are you talking about, sentencing comes after conviction in a separate proceeding. You get sentenced on what you’re found guilty of, there’s a statutorily authorized range of punishment depending on the degree of the convictions
@TeddysGrandson1@elhijodealli7 Defendant is going to prison for life or being executed; in neither case does he remain any kind of threat to anyone’s safety or welfare
@bussin233233@no_earthquake The State brags when they get someone sentenced to death, defense attorneys are allowed to brag when they stop that from happening. You’re just bloodthirsty
If he’d had been a cop that dog owner would’ve been mopping up skull fragments and entrails. But he’s a working man so he successfully used reasonable non-lethal force to repel an immanent attack and everyone survies in one piece
The recent uptick in this type of “they never had a nation state so it’s not colonization” argument is 100% attributable to zionists re Palestine
Another disgusting ex of how Palestine is *the* issue of our time. Fascists around the world all find common cause in its destruction
@SomeThornyGuy@shitty_witch@antumbreon@JoeGlenS@dose_of_Close@TaraBull I consider stirringconflictforfun a news source actually so this is me staying up to date on current affairs. Really I’m something of an anthropologist atm, I’m at a zoo tapping the glass of the primate enclosure. Turns out the chuds are still stupid
@SomeThornyGuy@shitty_witch@antumbreon@JoeGlenS@dose_of_Close@TaraBull Remind me again why you insist on talking about rainwater when the incident you want to execute a judge over involves damming a stream?
Is it because you may have jumped the gun and let yourself get all riled up by an AI video?
