Strong #Conservative#win in #Dronfield as #Reform slip to third place. Cllr Jones secured 631 votes – almost half of all votes cast – comfortably ahead of Labour’s Jonathan Williams on 384 and Reform UK’s Devon Stacey, who finished third on 251 votes. Turnout was 26.92%.
Growing up in South East London, the Heygate Estate was a byword for urban failure. Ugly. Crumbling. Crime-ridden.
Look at it now. Torn down, rebuilt, and transformed into somewhere people genuinely want to live.
But it is far too expensive and far too slow to do this in urban areas. Planning costs, land accumulation, remediation, sometimes hundreds of millions before a spade goes in the ground.
That is why development keeps getting pushed onto the green belt.
We need to fix that, we need to make it quicker, easier and cheaper to regenerate our towns and cities, and build on brownfield land, so that tired, neglected parts of Britain can become great places to live again.
Origin labelling currently enables produce which has been reared or grown abroad but processed in Britain to carry the Union Jack – misleading consumers into believing they are backing British farmers when they are not.
Consumer choice and our brilliant British farmers must be supported, with the Union Jack allowed on labels only where produce is genuinely from the United Kingdom.
Let’s end the flag loophole. Surely this is a no-brainer? 🇬🇧

Labour have chosen.
To keep dangerous young thugs out of prison.
To let 60,000 criminals out early.
And to abolish short-term sentences altogether.
They cannot be trusted to keep us safe.
Starmer, Burnham, Farage, Polanski…These men have one thing in common. They all want nationalisation.
That will mean companies run by politicians but paid for with YOUR money.
There’s only one party that stands against their failed ideas and that’s the Conservatives.
Britain is a great country, but under Labour an economic time bomb is ticking.
Both Labour and Reform are offering the same reckless plan:
More spending, more borrowing and more debt.
Britain has got to live within its means.
The Government’s story on the alleged China spy scandal keeps changing.
The strong impression is that Labour have undermined Britain’s national security because Starmer is too weak to do anything other than appease China.
My letter and questions to Keir Starmer👇
Kemi Badenoch has found a fantastic way to boost the UK economy by scrapping Stamp Duty - and she’s offering to work with the government on welfare reform to make sure we can afford it.
This would get Britain’s housebuilders building again on the back of the surge in demand that would inevitably follow.
Take her up on it, and we might just see the economy starting to fire on all cylinders again. #StampDuty #EconomyBoost
Our Stamp Duty announcement dominated the headlines this morning.
Why? Because we’re the only Party with a plan to scrap it and build a stronger economy.

Stamp Duty is stopping Britain moving.
This survey suggests 2.8m homeowners want to downsize but this punishing, unConservative tax keeps them stuck.
We have a plan to abolish it.
Help us, and join the Conservatives👇

The next Conservative government will abolish stamp duty on your home.
Because Britain should be a country where people who wish to own their own home, can.
Only Conservatives will tell you the truth, take the difficult decisions, and do the hard work.
Only Conservatives have the courage, the honesty, and the plan to strengthen our borders, restore our sovereignty, and rebuild our prosperity.
This morning I will send an unoquivical message to young people - the @conservatives are on your side.
In my conference speech, I will announce that a future Conservative government will introduce the First Job Bonus - a £5,000 tax cut for every young person starting work, to help them save for a home or their future.
Because Conservatives believe work should be rewarded - not taxed.
Aspiration. Opportunity. Hope.
