@sporadica@Kashfinanace Napping on the beach, after a cold swim, under a shady tree, with a cool breeze caressing the skin. An unbeatable sensory experience. Great choice of activity.
@MuKuDk2 They’re lazy. Or entitled. Or both. (But 😭publish or perish, I need to publish 49 gigatrillionbazzillion papers to get tenure, because 😭 China publishes more, and 😭 quantity over quality and 😭 my research is non-reproducible but hey! Dark matter and string theory…………….)
@JennMGreenberg@LibertyJen It’s favorite recently: changing “your” to “yoir” Trying to think of the logic behind that. Maybe I mistyped it once and it thinks it’s my favorite word now? Another favorite: “fir” instead of “for”. Maybe it thinks I’m an arborist? It has become maddening.
@amydiehl WTF. Have you tried it? No number captures the intangible, and that is definitely not lost time, income blah blah blah. Keep your stupid numbers away from moms and their babies.
@moseskagan@CoreyWriting But you’ll never know if they would get in without the legacy tag. Not that anybody cares…My kids’ high school mostly sends athletes to Stanford. Sons and daughters of smart, hard-working, successful people that also went to elite universities to play sports. Funny how that goes
@SwipeWright@christopherrufo Also if you teach in English you should be able to speak it and be understood in it. Same with other languages in universities in other countries.
