We are on the scene of a shooting investigation in the 1400 Block of SW Martin. Two adults were shot. One has minor injures and the other, serious but not life threatening injuries. Investigators are on scene. Anyone with information is asked to call 816-228-0151.

Officer Pouncil has been with the Blue Springs Police Department for 25 years. We joined him for an evening as he goes to calls and interacts with citizens. We also got a pet a dog which always makes a shift better.

Night shift dispatchers settled in answering emergency and non emergency lines alike. This group will be working for 12 hours from 6pm to 6 am serving the citizens of Blue Springs.
The Blue Springs Parks & Recreation Department was recognized by the Mayor and City Council during last night’s City Council meeting for being named the Large Class 1Agency of the Year at the recent Missouri Parks and Recreation Association (MPRA) annual conference in Branson, Mo.
In addition, Derek Mayden, Superintendent of Parks Maintenance, won the Park Resources Distinguished Service Award. He was nominated by his peers in the department for his contributions to the City’s parks system for nearly 10 years.
Finally, five members of the Parks Maintenance team, Gabe Bickel, Pride Carter, Steve Moore, Andy Peterson and Chuck Spooner, competed in MPRA’s State Maintenance Rodeo after qualifying at the Region 1 Maintenance Rodeo in Sedalia.
