When my sister wanted to buy land, she informed my parents.
My dad asked, “Is your husband aware?”
She said, “No.”
Dad replied, “Tell him first and get back to me.”
She never did.
Later, my dad found out through my brother and called her husband.
“Are you aware your wife bought land?”
The husband replied:
“No sir. But why would she do that? All the properties I buy are in both our names.”
My sister called my dad angrily:
“Dad, you want to scatter my marriage!”
My Dad answered her:
“You’re the one already scattering it.”
Twelve years later, she still thanks him. She said her friends had been advising her to buy property secretly.
Someone gave me a lift after church today.
On the way, he was like “see how the madam seat fits you. Let’s do something about it now.”
I just laughed.
Then he goes “I’m serious o, I need a girlfriend.”
I said, “okay, look for one.”
He said “that’s why I’m telling you to be my girlfriend na. I always leave very early for work and get home very late. It would be nice if you could come around to cook and clean.”
I quietly opened TikTok and showed him a video. He asked what’s that?
I told him it’s a cleaning agency, and there are lots of chefs online in case he doesn’t know where to find them.
He didn’t know what to say. He just kept laughing.
Nonsense.
@EddyCue97@AfroVII Aren't you the same person who just tried to flex on me by claiming "category" on top tea party? You aren't very self aware, are you?
You grew up in Naija, but you think that tea parties are even remotely the norm over here. You've lost touch with reality, my friend.

@shacquina I refuse to do this whole "they were both wrong" thing with you regarding this matter.
The skepticism over her claims are well-founded even today, 4 years later. And Ope's expression of that skepticism was in no way disrespectful.
Jola is simply badly behaved and it manifested.
"Tea Party" and "Nigeria" is a hilarious combination of words.
We haven't even yet figured out what the actual concept of Tea is, we want to attach party to it.
Umu Bridgerton.
@shacquina Only a person with an incredibly fragile ego sees any shred of doubt as an attempt at invalidating their experience.
When you say a thing that is widely known to be highly unlikely on the Internet, questions will arise. You can either answer them or ignore.
BONIFACE SHOW ME THE CRAZIEST MOTION WHEN WE DEY LONDON

@EmpowHerChoices Ah, I see the problem now. You don't like the Ope guy.
Wouldn't have bothered engaging if I knew bias was in play. I don't have a dog into the fight but it's obvious you do. My bad.
@shacquina@Theadeolashow_ P.S. The context of this whole conversation is Ope being condescended to by Jola for daring to be skeptical about the possibility of tea parties in Nigerian schools.
Maybe my comments will make more sense if you look at it through the subject matter.
@shacquina@Theadeolashow_ Again, not questioning your reality, love. But skepticism is borne out of statistics and data.
And, statistically, a tea party is NOT the norm in Nigeria. There might be a few groups here and there, but they do not scratch the surface of the overall Nigerian reality.
@EmpowHerChoices What is even more hilarious is you have no idea who I am or what circles I move in.
But then again, classism isn't very rational behaviour, is it? Wouldn't expect any different.
@EmpowHerChoices You hear people use "tea time" in Nigeria EVERYDAY?????
😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
I see we've moved on to full blown lies now, eh?
P.S. Your condescension is peeking out in that "... don't live the same realities" phrase. I see why you're firmly on Jola's side.
@onahiOMOTI 😂😂😂😂😂
Maybe it actually agrees with her palette, you never know.
I'll wait for her to travel - if she hasn't already - and try the original versions of the meal and decide if she REALLY likes it.
That's how I almost starved to death in Italy.
@EmpowHerChoices Don't be an asshole to a person for expressing skepticism over a matter for which skepticism is fully understandable.
Clear their doubts or ignore them instead of pulling out that childish classist move she pulled.
@EmpowHerChoices Thank you for making my point. In all your years of living in Nigeria, how many times have you heard the term "tea time" used?
My point is simple: the statistical chances of a school in Nigeria having a tea party are so slim that SKEPTICISM is well-founded.
