It was a pleasure speaking with @maceagon for this podcast focused on the context surrounding my music.
I discussed my formative influences, my failed attempt at becoming a literary translator, and some of the ways I discover new music.
And I chose 3 desert island discs.
A year or so later, we recorded the @Blue_EyedHawk album and I set Valediction to music. It became the last track on the album.

We had a semi-improvised piece we usually played based on W.B. Yeats' "O Do Not Love Too Long" & spontaneously decided to switch the lyrics to Heaney's "Valediction" as a tribute/farewell to an artist who'd touched all our hearts.
I dug out the recording:

Heaney was probably the first contemporary poet I "got".
Such vivid, tactile language.
The day he died, I was playing at @bbcproms with @Blue_EyedHawk and Northen Irish poet Charlotte Higgins, who knew Heaney. It was broadcast live on @BBCRadio3 w @MannGeorgia presenting.
Beyond excited to announce the release date for our debut album!

Here it is! The video you helped me make with your #EarthDay photos of the sky. Also, this is the first track I've composed, performed, recorded, produced, mixed and mastered myself.
