On the morning of July 29, 2025,
immediately after the ceasefire took effect,
the Thai armed forces illegally arrested Cambodian military personnel. As of August 17, 2025, they have been detained unlawfully for 19days.
At 11 a.m. this morning, Thai armed forces, accompanied by heavy machinery such as excavators, entered An Ses area and other locations within Cambodian sovereign territory, and even laid barbed wire, despite strong objections from our forces. It is also worth noting that Cambodia recently arranged a visit by foreign military attachés to those locations on July 30, 2025, clearly demonstrating that these areas are part of Cambodian sovereign territory.
This act constitutes a flagrant violation of the ceasefire and poses a grave threat to peace and security along the border between the two countries, as well as to the wider region. Cambodia calls on the international community — particularly partner countries that have worked tirelessly to help achieve this hard-won ceasefire and wish to see it fully and effectively implemented — to demand that Thailand immediately stop its aggressive actions and strictly respect international law, especially Cambodia’s sovereignty and territorial integrity.
Spokesperson of the Ministry of National Defense:
As of now, violations from the Thai side continue and have escalated beyond the initial incidents.
Since 5:00 AM yesterday, in the operational zone of Military Region 4, Thai forces began launching continuous and intense attacks toward Bos Sbov. These escalations include the following incidents:
At 10:40 AM, Thai aircraft dropped two bombs on the road leading to Preah Vihear Temple.
At 11:56 AM, a Thai aircraft dropped a cluster bomb on Phnom Khmao.
At 2:30 PM, Thailand launched a ground assault using armored vehicles in the Veal Intrei area.
From 2:30 PM onward, the situation gradually deescalated until 10:00 PM.
At 2:00 AM (past midnight), Thai troops began a new wave of attacks on Cambodia, targeting the Veal Intrei area.
At 2:30 AM, Thai forces launched additional strikes on Ta Thav and Phnom Khmao, using surveillance and combat drones.
At 4:50 AM this morning, Thailand began artillery shelling into the territory around the Ta Moan Thom and Ta Krabey temples.
At 6:00 AM, Thai forces began advancing ground troops into the Phnom Khmao area.
Across all conflict zones, from Ta Moan Temple to the Mom Bei area, Thailand has aggressively used heavy artillery, cluster bombs via drones, and airstrikes against Cambodian territory.
The facts are indisputable: it was Thailand that launched the first wave of brutal attacks against Cambodian territory. On 27 July 2025, at 02:00, Thai forces shelled Veal Intry location; by 02:30, they expanded the bombardment to Ta Thao, Phnom 333, and Phnom Khmouch; and at 04:50, additional shelling struck Tamone Thom and Ta Krabey. At 06:00, Thai ground troops invaded Phnom Khmouch, An Ses, and Veal Intry location, followed by a large-scale incursion at 06:30 involving tanks and ground troops into multiple areas, including Veal Intry, 5 Makara, Phnom Khmouch, and An Ses.
On the morning of July 27, 2025, hundreds of Cambodian citizens living in Auckland, New Zealand, gathered to protest and strongly condemn Thailand’s invasion of Cambodia’s territorial sovereignty.

National Defense Spokesperson: Four days of Thai military aggression have forced 25,000 Cambodian families—around 80,000 people—to flee their homes, while 130,000 children have been unable to attend school.
Cambodia strongly rejects the false and fabricated claims made by Thai media and a Thai army spokesperson accusing Cambodia of using heavy weapons, specifically the long-range PHL 03 missiles. This propaganda is intended to mislead both their own citizens and the international community. I would like to reaffirm that Cambodia has had no reason to deploy the PHL 03 missiles.
