@BBCBreaking Although I worked for EMR until recently, I didn't know Shaun but I knew a good number of his colleagues, some of which are friends of mine. Thinking of everyone, especially Shaun's family and friends. Rest in peace.
@fin_woah@northernassist My favourite Class 15x trains. Used to be regulars at Crewe in EMR, EMT, Central and Regional Railways days on services between there and Derby/Nottingham.
@EngFocus@MarkPiesing As someone who took early retirement in April after 36 years in the industry, the micromanaging of franchises and later full control by the Dft have been part of tbe problems for some considerable time. Good luck to the rail staff as things will get even worse.
@moor_facts@archer_rs@dysontour Apparently she is joining Greatest Hits Radio. Not sure what show she would present but a future replacement for the excellent Ken Bruce possibly? He is in his mid 70s but is still as good as ever.
@StringerSport When I first heard he was a possibility, I thought no way, especially after his spell at Rangers. However if he can bring some of his own players in and get rid of some more of the deadwood from the squad I'm sure he will do ok. I wish Russell Martin well.
@philatrail I think EMR, who were part of the Abellio group at the time missed a trick. I'm sure a brand new fleet of Class 755 bi mode Flirts for the regional fleet would have been a much better option than the mish mash of 20 to 36 years old 158s and 170s that they have now.
@marksandspencer@craftylassdoes Due to the removal of the plastic covering on gift wrap by most retailers, you waste about a quarter of the roll trying to remove the sticky labels. Not good
@NationalHways can something please be done about the constant congestion around junction 21 of the M1 in Leicestershire? Northbound entry and southbound exit slip roads are just one lane ( southbound is eventually three but everyone uses the first exit lane). Poor design.
@chiltern_lane I wouldn't be at all surprised. The clowns at the Dft love taking credit for stuff but if things go wrong they throw the blame at the door of the rail operator.
