Alexander Magazinov, a Russian national, is a notorious perpetrator of the PubPeer “PubSmear” Network Mob. He and his closest fraudulent associate play a central role in this mob network.

Magazinov is a notorious online harasser, bully, and cyberstalker who operates dozens of fraudulent anonymous X accounts, such as Spottingthepost and wool_yeah, among many others.

This individual also operates a large number of fraudulent anonymous aliases on the compromised PubPeer (aka PubSmear — a term officially entered into the US Congressional Record on 3 June 2026) platform. Examples include Rhipidura albiventris and Desmococcus antarctica, which are responsible for over 21,000 entries — more than 8% of all posts on this platform. These are just two examples among the large number of fraudulent aliases this individual operates.

📌 Magazinov effectively exploits the mob network’s central strategy of “Partial Truth” — using fragments of genuine research integrity concerns to conceal his main agenda of smearing and defaming the network’s true targets.

He also handles a few infiltrated compromised actors in the research integrity offices of major academic publishers and has formed a network of fraudulent insiders in several countries for amplification.
