What happens when climate risks place more pressure on water systems?
Droughts, floods, and shifting weather patterns can affect access, infrastructure, safety, and planning.
Strengthening water resilience is essential to supporting more effective climate
adaptation.
Different countries. Different priorities. Different realities.
That’s exactly why dialogue matters.
Our MC member from Jordan, H.E. Eng. Maysoon Al-Zoubi, shares why bringing people around the same table is often the first step toward better transboundary water cooperation.
The more complete the picture, the better the path forward.

As water challenges become more complex, the way we manage them also needs to evolve. By integrating new technologies such as AI, institutions can better understand changing conditions, identify pressure points earlier, and improve the timing of their response.
For water systems, this means moving beyond observation toward more informed, prepared, and coordinated action.

We often talk about water as a resource. But for communities, it’s also about health, opportunity, and dignity.
Access to water shapes daily life, from going to school and earning a living to building stronger, more resilient communities.
That’s why cooperation matters. Sustainable solutions start when we work together.

Exploring new frontiers in transboundary water cooperation!
This time, our MC @temaden and @Hakamalalami888 are joining Blue Peace Central Asia at the Dushanbe Water Conference to contribute to regional dialogue on sustainable water management, climate adaptation, and strengthened institutional collaboration across transboundary waters.
Our engagement will focus on practical discussions around:
• Climate change and water scarcity adaptation methods
• Lessons learned and best practices in addressing water scarcity
• Strengthening institutional cooperation and basin-wide coordination
• Advancing transboundary collaboration at both regional and bilateral levels
If you are in Dushanbe, we look forward to connecting during the conference discussions.

Biological diversity is what keeps ecosystems alive and functioning, and healthy ecosystems are what make biodiversity possible in the first place. They depend on each other.
In transboundary basins, ecosystems are part of a continuous system that cuts across landscapes, communities, and sectors. What happens in one area inevitably affects the rest, including water availability, food systems, energy production, and long-term environmental resilience.
On the International Day for Biological Diversity, we re-affirm the importance of protecting ecosystems as a core part of integrated water cooperation through the Water-Energy-Food-Ecosystems nexus.

Water systems are facing increasing pressure.
As demand rises and climate challenges intensify, more informed and timely decisions are becoming essential. Digital tools are enabling improved monitoring, analysis, and more efficient management of water resources across systems.
#BluePeaceME #WaterManagement #DigitalTransformation
The future of water management will be digital, data-driven, and collaborative, or we risk falling behind the challenges ahead.
From smart monitoring systems to predictive analytics and early warning tools, digital innovation is no longer optional in the water sector; it is becoming essential for resilience, efficiency, and informed decision-making.
The question is no longer if digital transformation will shape water governance, but how quickly we are willing to adapt.

Water = life.
But across parts of the region, that life is quietly changing. Declining water levels are reshaping ecosystems that communities and wildlife have depended on for generations. What may begin as environmental change can quickly affect livelihoods, biodiversity, and everyday life.
Through this documentary, our Junior Media Hub member Mohammad Omer Hama Amin takes a closer look at these realities and the stories behind them.

What does it take for dialogue to actually shape cooperation on the ground?
As a member of the Managing Committee, Prof. Dr. Ahmet Mete Saatci reflects on how Blue Peace ME's regional mechanism is moving beyond discussion—linking regional dialogue, field insights, and policy spaces in transboundary water contexts.

Ever wondered how digital tools are reshaping water management in agriculture?
In partnership with the Turkish Water Institute (SUEN), Blue Peace Middle East convened a regional workshop in Izmir, Türkiye, bringing together experts from Iraq, Jordan, Lebanon, and Türkiye to explore how data-driven solutions are transforming irrigation practices, strengthening decision-making, and supporting more efficient and sustainable water use across the region.

What happens when years of water diplomacy meet the investment agenda?
For the first time, Blue Peace Middle East dedicates a session to how sustained institutional cooperation between Iraq and Türkiye is creating conditions for climate-resilient investment in transboundary water resources.
Featuring a keynote by H.E. Veysel Eroğlu, Türkiye's Presidential Special Envoy for Water Affairs to Iraq, and a panel of members who serve in both the Iraq–Türkiye Joint Permanent Water Committee and our initiative regional mechanism, alongside Switzerland.

Before-and-after shots of Al Wehda Dam, shared by Jordan and Syria, following recent bilateral cooperation efforts.
Fig trees that have stood for generations are now under pressure as drought intensifies across Iraq and Syria. What’s unfolding goes beyond agriculture, it’s about livelihoods, identity, and how communities respond to growing water challenges.

Through the lens of Sarah Homaidan, a member of our Junior Media Hub, we explore a success story in Northern Jordan, specifically Sama Al-Sarhan,one that has revived the area and turned challenges into real opportunities.
From rainwater harvesting to hydroponic farming, and even solar-powered pumps, these innovative initiatives have helped dozens of families, strengthened sustainable livelihoods, and opened better horizons for future generations.
Implemented by INWRDAM, a site once known for destructive flash floods has been transformed into an integrated system where water is harvested, redirected, and utilized to support sustainable agriculture and local livelihoods.
By combining water harvesting, solar energy, and nature-based solutions, Sama Al-Sarhan project turns seasonal challenges into long-term opportunities for communities.
Today, this project is no longer just a local initiative, but a practical WEFE model demonstrating how smart investment in transboundary resources and in people can open new pathways for resilience and hope.
